I live in San Diego, CA, and I am currently employed as a research assistant and a nanny for special needs children. I also provide tutoring services in a number of subjects.I attended San Diego State University and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Psychology. I taught a statistics course, entitled "Data Analysis in Psychology," while pursuing my graduate degree. When I'm in front of a class, I bring a lot of energy with me.It's important to me that students combine having fun with getting an education. I think that the more enjoyable the experience is, the more they will want to keep learning. From my own experience as a visual learner, I find that this is the most comfortable teaching style for me. I use images, games, stories, funny anecdotes, and positive comments as my tools to give examples to and motivate students. It makes me happy to see my students getting excited about learning.I'm interested in providing tutoring services in subjects such as Algebra 1, Psychology, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Special Education, Graduate Test Prep, Homework Support, Social Sciences, GRE Verbal, Grammar and Mechanics, Spanish, and more.Besides work and tutoring assignments, I enjoy hiking, swimming, and going to the beach. Spending time with family and friends is also very important to me. I also like to cook, as well as read.
